We've met many rascals here in the "Sea"
but the worst of the lot it seems to me
was dumped from a Cruiser some time ago
and t'was our bad luck this crew to know.
There was Waffon who'd talk the whole blinking night,
and Joe whose suit was a terrible sight.
Micky who drove the barmaids mad
and crazy Mc. Rosie - who was a hell of a lad.
Such a crew for the ladies I have never known,
we suspect many seeds of the Navy are sown.
Of course there's Penswick - he could be to blame,
but he looks so innocent it would be a shame.
Of our brown ale they've had their share,
these who are all-devil-may-care.
Who love a row and enjoy a fight
and seem to manage one every night.
I think the Boss is glad they've gone,
he didn't like Jock Kennedy's fun.
Jack Dempsey didn't stand a chance
when Kennedy did a MAXIM DANCE.
Still they were canny those sons of the sea,
and in all the barmaids hearts they'll be
a place for the Edinburgh Crewe for ever
for to forget them all we can never.
So best of luck and pots of Rum
and to South Shields some day you'll come
To have a good drink down at the "Sea"
For welcome there you'll always be.
